Useful Steam Tips for Newbies

Steam is one of the biggest gaming platforms in the world, and that's why there are so many features. But you also have to be careful as many people try to scam people on Steam for a lot of money.

Steam has countless games on its platform that anyone can download and then play. But many of them are also paid. However, Steam does have a lot of features and so there is a lot to be found there. There are also a few tips for gaming newbies that we will show you.

Steam Guard

The very first thing you should do when you set up Steam is to make a Steam Guard. Which is a double authenticator that generates a code in the app on your phone that you have to log in with.

So if someone wants to log in to your account they have to somehow crack Steam Guard first, and that's not exactly easy. All professional gamers recommend having Steam Guard turned on even though sometimes it may not even help.

Manage Your Library

But on Steam, you can also customize where your games are and how your library is displayed. There are countless features you can sort games by or add them to different subgroups. Customize your library in whatever way you like and feel most comfortable with.

Add a Non-Steam Game to Your Library

However, if the game you're playing isn't on Steam you can simply add it to your library so you don't have to look anywhere else.

You can easily add games to Steam that are not sold or downloadable on Steam. So you never have to search for your nonsteam game anywhere else.

Steam Cloud

However, if your computer crashes or you just want to play your progress on another computer, Steam Cloud is there for you. Which downloads all the progress you've played to the Cloud, which then connects to your other computer and uploads the progress you've played.

It's really cool because then you can play your favourite game on the go or pretty much anywhere with your progress being saved on all your devices.

Share Games

You can also share your games with a friend or family member. However, there are some rules and so for some games only one player can play and the other has to watch. But you can find out more about this on Steam where it talks about how to use sharing games and your library to a friend.
