Tips And Tricks for Mac Beginners

If you want to get a Mac or you already have one, but you are a complete beginner because it is something completely different compared to Windows, this post is definitely for you.

Macs have always had slightly different features compared to Windows even though many of them are the same, they work completely differently and so does the setup.

Apple has actually handled their system differently so it's clear that many features will be different and will be done differently somehow. That's why we've put together some tips and tricks that you might be able to use.

Apps in Full-Screen Mode

You can also switch all the apps you use on your Mac to Full Screen. And this can also be useful for a few things. One of them is that you don't see unnecessary menus around the app, so you can focus on it. But only you can test how it helps you. How to put an app in full-screen mode:

  • Open the app
  • Click the fullscreen button located in the top left corner of the window or press Control + Cmd + F
  • The app will go into fullscreen mode

That’s pretty much it. If you want to exit it, you can move your pointer to the top of your screen and click the green button again.

Spotlight Search

There are many things you can do with Spotlight search. It's not just a simple search engine, but it can also count examples and more. And so it's up to you to find out what it can actually do because there are so many features.

Split View

You can use Split View on both Windows and Mac, but it's a little different on Mac. Split View on Mac can be used between apps, and almost all of them. But you have to do it this way:

  • Open the two apps you want to use
  • On one app, hover your pointer over the Full-Screen button without clicking it
  • Select Tile Window to the Left of Screen or to the Right of Screen
  • Click the window of the other app you want to use in Split View

And that's how you can use almost any app you have on your Mac. Internet too, but you just have to make its bars a little smaller.

There are a lot of tips and tricks you can find on Mac, so if these aren't enough, look for more, because there are so many that can't even be described in a few articles.
